Marietta native Doug Jones named ECHL Rookie of your Month

Jones scored two goals in any 42 loss in to the Ontario Reign on October 19th along two points (one goal, one assist) in a 43 win at Greenville on October 21st. Between October 21st and October 26th, Jones enjoyed a three game point scoring streak, five of his 10 points on the month came in that span.

Jones joined the Gladiators for the past five games of the season during the past year and scored four points (three goals, one assist) before ok Dartmouth College to finish his senior season. During Jones' a year ago at Dartmouth in 201112, he earned 25 points (11 goals, 14 assists) in 31 games and was named team MVP.

Jones will be the second Gwinnett player (both rookies) to league wide honors after all this from the young season, goalie Mike Lee was ECHL Goaltender of every week on your week ending October 28th.

Gwinnett travels to Florida to find the Orlando Solar Bears Wednesday night in regards to what would be the second meeting ever between these clubs. The Gladiators dominated the Solar Bears inside the first deciding on a 41 win around the Arena at Gwinnett Center.

Orlando is right now third inside the South Division along with a 5311 record and fifth inside the Eastern Conference. The Solar Bears are led by ECHL's top scorer Nick Peterson who may have 17 points regarding who the winner and goalie John Curry with a 0.908 save percent.
